Where is Obama’s foreign policy? We were told that because the entire world loved him and hated Bush, that the world would embrace and protect American interests.
So I ask:
Where is the North Korea UN resolution?
Where are the additional troop support in Afghanistan?
How much closer is Iran to the Nuke?
Is Russia our friend again?
Is the first pirate attack on an American ship a coincidence?
These are rhetorical questions for conservatives, but I often wonder whether or not liberals actually ask these questions. I would also like to see elected conservatives ask these questions. It is not always proper to directly criticize the President while the events are unfolding and it is often very hard to assign a cause and effect to every policy. But when you ask the questions together it makes the point much clearer than getting bogged down in one example. In other words, if there was a strong conservative in the White House, would we have the pirate fiasco? Possible, but would we have all of the continual failures in foreign policy and perceived weakness. NO
Why? Here is the main difference in beliefs. Conservatives know that we have to protect our interests aggressively at all times, because the rest of the world will not in the best case and in the worst actually hope for or encourage the weakening of our interests. Conservatives also know that there will be negative repercussions on pursuing interests, there always are, but the damage on not protecting our interests are far more dangerous particularly in the long term. Liberals however get caught up in the negatives of acting on our behalf that they never ask them selves what happens when they avoid all negative repercussions.
So yes the will go on and on about how ill advised it will be to do something about Iran, but ask them what will they do when Iran has the nuke? Ask them if they are sure they won’t use it? There are no good answers, so my advise is for Republicans to take a play out of the 5 year old habit of asking questions. Let’s see what the maternal answers are. This is a test, they have always said they have the answers, so ask the questions and get out of the way. The public can see what a failure their answers will be, don’t pollute the arguments with the back and forth. That only gives the liberals the negative consequences of the positive action on Americans interests. That is were the debate becomes lost because red herrings abound.
So here are my questions for liberals.
Q. What happens when we have a weak President that depends on global support and we don’t get global support?
Q. How many troops did we get from NATO when Bush asked for them in Afghanistan last time?
Q. How many troops did Obama get for Afghanistan from NATO?
Q. Why did the pirates take over an American ship for the first time in 200 years?
Q. If you were a pirate, would you be more likely or less likely to hijack an American vessel with a conservative or liberal as President?
Q. If it is too early to see international cooperation for Obama’s foreign policy, when will it be too late?
Q. Even if don’t think we should have a missile defense in eastern Europe, shouldn’t you try to get something in exchange and not tell the world you don’t want it anyway?
Q. When will see a UN Resolution on North Korea, and how much time do you need to get the world to agree that firing a missile over Japan is not good?
Q. When did or does the 16 months for Iraqi withdrawal start?
You see if conservatives would ask more questions, we could go on the offense. The problem is we always give our answers that are by their nature imperfect and then the entire discussion is centered around why our answers have negatives(they always will). We never talk about what the negatives are associated with the liberals plan or lack thereof.
Let’s see your questions in the comment section, you will see how powerful this can be, try other areas, not just foreign policy.
Like-
If socialism is so good, why is the rest of the world upset at our financial collapse?
Why were they invested in us if their system was better?
How is their “safety net” faring under stress?
If socialism is so good, why is there rampant unemployment in socialist countries?
If socialism for the small guy, why is unemployment for minorities double the rate in socialist countries? (ours is a bit higher but not even close to their rations)
Ok enough for now, your turn.
